GUIDED VISIT TO BAEZA
Baeza, where poetry becomes stone. UNESCO World Heritage City, of great artistic and cultural wealth, which served as an inspiration to the poet Antonio Machado.
The origins of Baeza begin in the Bronze Age, hence its outstanding heritage, due to its monumental variety in which diverse cultures, periods and artistic styles are represented.
Our route will start in the Plaza de los Leones, after visiting the butchers and the Civil Court, we will cross the Puerta de Jaén to reach the Plaza de Santa María, the city center, and a key place in Baeza’s heritage, where the Holy Church Cathedral of Baeza is.
Through the Paseo de las Murallas and overlooking the olive groves of the Guadalquivir Valley, we will advance until we reach the square, which church bears his name, Santa Cruz, and represents some of the Legends of the city of Baeza next to the majestic Palace of Jabalquinto . Obligatory visit to the Old Baezana University ending our walk through the Arco del Barbudo that will take us to the Old Market Square, the nerve center of the city.
