TRAVEL ITINERARY

In the morning, after breakfast, we go on a full day excursion to the towns of Zuheros and Luque.

Zuheros is considered one of the most beautiful towns in the country, and there is no lack of reason.

Zuheros is a complex of extraordinary integral beauty, since its elements are combined in a harmonious and perfect way: the limestone of its mountains, the vast olive groves, and the lime of its houses. In this complex, the town has a special attraction, due to its urban layout at the foot of the mountains, its clean, secluded and narrow streets, its houses that smell of tradition and history; presided over by the impressive Rocky Castle. The castle will be our first visit, where we can also cross the suspension bridge at its feet, a true vertigo experience.

We continue the visit through the historic center until we move to the Cueva de los Murciélagos Natural Monument, formed by a system of caves and galleries, within the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park. It stands out for the beauty of its limestone formations and for serving as a habitat for various species of bats. This cave is a very important Neolithic site in Andalusia and the first with cave art from the Upper Paleolithic, which has led to its declaration as a Site of Cultural Interest. The views it offers from the entrance of the Cave towards the Natural Park are impressive and perfect for photography lovers.

After the visit, we move to Luque, where before continuing, we have lunch (free). After lunch, we will visit the walled complex of the Hins Lukk castle, from the era of the Muslim emirate. We continue through the historic center until we reach the Cueva de la Encantada. These caves are a joint of about 40 meters deep, in the urban area of ​​the town, in which different scenes of schematic painting from the Neolithic and Chalcolithic are represented, appearing in different caves and huts in the town.

In the afternoon, return to the hotel, Arabic bath session included. Free dinner and accommodation

Located in the countryside of the same name, Baena, we cannot include it as a white town as such, but we must because of its wealth and proximity to our area and because of the high gastronomic and agrarian value that the place has. In the morning, after breakfast, we go on a mid-morning excursion to get to know the historic center of the city, an urban walk to get to know the different walled enclaves ending with the imposing castle. The fortress, recently restored, will show us how it was one of the most important places during the so-called Reconquest.

After the visit, we will discover a traditional oil mill to learn about the “liquid gold” of Andalusia, Baena is a privileged place where one of the best oils in the region is produced. During our visit we will be able to check and learn about the olive process from the olive grove to our dishes. We will do a tasting to learn to identify the different types of oil. We cannot end the visit without experiencing a lunch at the oil mill itself with products paired with EVOO.

At the end of lunch, return to Córdoba and check-in at the hotel.

In the afternoon, our colleague will meet you at the hotel for a guided tour of the historic center of the city. It will be the culmination of our trip, knowing the beautiful Jewish quarter, souk and alleys. We will finish in the downtown area where we can have some traditional tapas.

In the morning, before check-out, we end the trip by visiting the Mosque of Córdoba. Culminating work of the Caliphate of Córdoba, we will visit the interior with its impressive arcade games as well as the ablution courtyard, commonly known as “patio of the orange trees”. After the visit, we check-out and transfer to the Córdoba train station.
